Sustainability has become more than a fad in the United States construction market. Since 1993, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has made a significant effort to educate the design and construction community on their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™.  More than 140,000 industry professionals have received their LEED credentials and over 4,400 projects have been certified. In parallel, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy are continuing to develop their ENERGY STAR certification program. There is increasingly more pressure to conserve energy; buildings are responsible for 38.9% of the total U.S. energy consumption. The good news is that there are many resources to assist building owners in their journey to construct, operate, and maintain energy efficient facilities.

Prairie Mechanical has the professional resources to assist our clients in assembling an energy conservation strategy that best fits their goals and objectives.  We have both LEED professionals and Certified Energy Managers on staff who are experienced in energy conservation projects. From the most simplistic water conversation measures to complex heat recovery strategies, Prairie Mechanical will work hand-in-hand with our clients to implement a solution that achieves the ultimate goal of saving energy.
